JLH Period Products Drive

Unfortunately, many low-income menstruators, particularly within the unhoused population, experience period poverty — or the lack of access to necessary menstrual products. This can keep individuals from work and job interviews and can interrupt the education of young menstruators, adding to causes of cyclical poverty. Period poverty can be especially dangerous during times of public emergency.

Please join the Junior League of Harrisburg in helping to fight period poverty in our community. Throughout March and April, we will be collecting pads, tampons, and other period necessities to support menstruators at Bethesda Mission’s women’s shelter. Community collection sites can be found at Elementary Coffee Co.’s North Street and Broad Street Market locations in Harrisburg and at Little Black Dress in Camp Hill.

Donations to the drive can also be made through our website or online Amazon wish list through May 17th. Thank you for your support in the fight against period poverty in Harrisburg!
