HARRISBURG – The Junior League of Harrisburg (JLH) is holding a community picnic on Sunday, Aug. 29, from noon – 4 p.m. at Reservoir Park Pavilion in Harrisburg.
The family-friendly event will feature food from Burger Yum, a basket raffle with prizes from local businesses, a 50/50, and games for children of all ages.
“This is our first-ever community picnic and I have been thrilled by the community’s response to this event,” said Kimmy Pianka, 2021 JLH Fund Development Director. “Over a dozen local businesses have donated exciting raffle prizes, including Shine on Market, Abrams and Weakley, PA Bakery, Good Brotha’s Book Cafe, and many others. We are looking forward to an afternoon of family fun and community.”
Money raised from the event will be used to support the Junior League of Harrisburg’s mission to cultivate leadership and community for women in the greater Harrisburg region through volunteerism, education, and training that seeks to assist, empower, and foster opportunities for women and families across our community.
Tickets are $15/person and $35 for a family of four, and can be purchased by visiting https://www.jl-hbg.com/events/community-picnic-fundraiser/.
Bring new or used books to donate to the JLH Little Libraries Project, and get one raffle ticket for every five books donated!
