Junior League of Harrisburg Bargain Box Rummage Sale Moves to Once a Year Harrisburg - (Nov 2009) - The Junior League of Harrisburg (JLH) will hold their 142nd Bargain Box Rummage Sale at the Camp Curtain YMCA at 2135 North 6th Street in Harrisburg on Nov 7th from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Bargain Box is the largest Rummage Sale in Central Pennsylvania and has been held twice yearly but next year there will only be one sale. Having a great Bargain Box requires months of planning and full participation from every member of the League. JLH will hold their 3rd Annual Volley for Kids Volleyball Tournament (VFK) in conjunction with Aaron’s Acres in Spring 2010. VFK benefits children with disabilities and their families. In order to focus full attention on both events, JLH will host only one Bargain Box next year. This change means the entire League has been working diligently to gather the best rummage from friends and family for the upcoming sale. As always, the sale will fill the entire YMCA gymnasium and offers a wide selection of clothing for all ages, furniture, house wares, toys, books and more. The ‘Boutique’ section offers new and specialty items. Donations are being solicited to provide families and individuals in need from within the community with ‘Bargain Bucks’ that can be used to purchase items from the sale. Proceeds from Bargain Box support the mission of the Junior League and are used to fund community initiatives, scholarships and grants. Admission is $1.00 and Free Parking is available in the rear of the building. There will be a live DJ, delicious food for purchase and prizes will be raffled throughout the sale.
